Job Description:

Our client a leading multi-billion dollar manufacturing company with a diverse line of products is seeking a financial analyst. The Financial Analyst will serve as a critical team member of the finance group, providing financial/business support to management and business partners. This position will provide a platform for learning core fundamentals of operational finance, as well as provide opportunities for growth and development into a leadership and business partner role. This position is an excellent developmental position for candidates aspiring to advance to a Senior Financial Analyst or a Controller position. Key Responsibilities:Responsible for inventory accounting, including, but not limited to, scrap reporting, reconciling perpetual to general ledger, standards review & annual cost roll, reserves and weekly inventory reporting.Responsible for fixed asset accounting, including, but not limited to, project spending, project capitalization, asset disposition, and capital in progress spending reviews.Prepares and deliver monthly financial/analytical reports of business performance to value stream teams.Prepares, analyzes and makes recommendations on routine journal entries, non-routine journal entries, and account reconciliations.Suggests, recommends, and implements changes to accounts, reports and administrative or data processing systems.Demonstrates a commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement. Identifies and responds actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers and is open and responsive to change.Prepares financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.Assist with key financial analysis to aid in business decisions, budgeting and forecasting, and cost structure analysis.Prepares and deliver monthly financial/analytical reports of business performance to management.Classifies and/or reviews recording of routine to complex accounting transactions.Identifies accounting problems, researches possible solutions, and presents conclusions. Drives problem solving.Leads initiatives and/or participate in teams to drive improvement with the Finance organization Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A working knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.Attention to detail and high level of accuracy .Ability to function both as a team member and a team leader.Ability to work within strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.Ability and willingness to learn new systems.Ability to multitask and prioritize.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning financial and employee files.Analytical and problem solving skills.Strong computer skills - advanced in Excel. Knowledgeable with PowerPoint and Word. Education and Experience:Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required .3-5 years previous financial analysis experience preferred.Experience in a lean manufacturing environment and experience using JD Edwards and Hyperion tools a plus.
