Job Description:

The Robert E. Morris Company, a regional distributor of CNC machine tools, tooling and accessories, and related engineering and support services, is seeking an ambitious and conscientious Applications Engineer to report to the Windsor, CT location. We are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer with a background in CNC Machinery. The Robert E. Morris Company is a division of Morris Group, Inc., one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America. Job Responsibilities As an Applications Engineer, you are responsible for the part programming of CNC Machine Tools, process development, and customer training in an industrial environment, using state-of-the-art equipment. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposalsMaking accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specificationsProgramming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss style lathesDeveloping/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machinesMaintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company Job Qualifications/CompetenciesStrong hands-on machining background with at least 3 years of experience with CNC machinesKnowledge of Okuma and Fanuc controls along with builder or distributor experience a plusSolid working knowledge of CAD/CAM software necessaryExcellent customer service and effective communication skills requiredFrequent travel throughout our regional territory Benefits The Robert E.
