POSITION SUMMARY: The Dining Room Coordinator is the lead server and is responsible for overall dining room operations. He/she oversees dining room assignments, server scheduling and coordination of customer reservations. The Dining Room Coordinator provides courteous and friendly service of meals to patients, families, guests and employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Puts guest service first. Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality dining service experience in an attentive and responsive atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights. Maintains guest confidentiality. 2. Oversees the server functions including server attire, dining room assignments and scheduling to meet calculated labor budget. Utilizes mentoring, working side-by-side and demonstration techniques to improve the skills of the servers; 3. Coordinates guest dining reservation system; 4. Maintains the dining areas in clean, neat and orderly condition. Ensures needed linens, tableware and equipment are present and in good working order/condition; 5. Understands daily menu offerings and communicates meal and menu information to servers and guests. Accurately obtains guest meal orders and completes meal tickets accordingly; 6. Serves meals in a timely, courteous and professional manner; 7. Assists with basic preparation and portioning of foods and beverages as assigned; 8. Maintains clean, organized and sanitary work areas. Performs dish and ware washing functions as assigned. Performs after-use and scheduled cleaning of surfaces and equipment in accordance with established policies and cleaning procedures; 9. Operates equipment in a safe manner, reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor; 10. Sets-up, cleans-up and properly stores food, supplies and dishware needed for meal service in the kitchen, service stations and in dining locations; 11. Assists Executive Chef and Dining Services Director with planning and service of special events, celebrations, marketing events and other food related functions. 12. Works with Executive Chef and Dining Services Director to identify opportunities for improved customer service and dining program enhancements; 13. Maintains accurate records and reports including financial, payroll, quality, sanitation, safety and all other required documents; 14. Adheres to Food and Nutrition Services and Center policies and procedures; 15. Concerns his/herself with the safety of all Center patients in order to minimize the potential for fire and accidents. Also, ensures that the Center adheres to the legal, safety, health, fire and sanitation codes by being familiar with his/her role in carrying out the Center's fire, safety and disaster plans and by being familiar with current MSDS; 16. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
