Job Description:

Tax Accountant - Full Time Permanent position Salary Range - DOE The Tax Accountant will assist with the compliance of tax matters within the U.S. and Canada. The individual will act as a department liaison and advocate on tax issues impacting the company, and ensuring compliance obligations are efficiently, timely and accurately achieved while minimizing company's tax exposure. Responsibilities: Manage compliance by filing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual returns in multiple jurisdictions (US and Canada)Filing of personal property returns for the company and its domestic subsidiaries as applicable to those states which assess tax on said propertyManage Sales/Use and Property Tax related audits and inquiries from taxing authorities (US and Canada)Provide planning and research of tax laws and current issuesUnderstanding the nexus rules of the various taxing jurisdictionsManage customer exemption/resale certificatesRecommend and implement compliance policies, procedures and controlsSupport a system of internal controls (SOX) with respect to sales & use tax complianceReconciliation of Sales Tax liability accounts. Requirements: Educational: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalentProfessional: Multi-State Sales/Use tax experienceWork Experience: 3-5 years Accounting and Tax experience, experience in a high-volume, fast paced environmentOther: Experience with Canada Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Provincial Sales Tax laws preferred but not required.
