Position Summary Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. The Director of Infrastructure Operations will lead the function responsible for Regeneron's 24 x 7 day to day operations for all IT infrastructure services and will manage implementation and migration to a consolidated approach ensuring that all services provided meet pre-defined SLAs. Regeneron is a high growth organization and looking to prepare its operational areas for the next wave of growth through consolidation of its operational services.
Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, this position is a mix of exceptional team management, technology ownership, and vendor management coupled with strong interface skills working with the other towers of IT and business stakeholders. The successful individual will ensure that all aspects of operational excellence are achieved.

As the Director of Infrastructure Operations you will:

• Be responsible to transform the organization into a team providing "Bulletproof Operations" through transition and consolidation of service partners.
• Manage a continuous improvement approach to managing vendors to insure optimization and improvements to effectiveness and efficiency as Regeneron continues to grow.
• Insure a seamless migration through transition to a consolidated service provider for all operational service towers (Data Centers, Networks, Cloud, Servers, Storage, Backup, DR)
• Work as a technical thought leader alongside business, product and infrastructure teams providing operational guidance and value.
• Support the acceleration of transformation at Regeneron through implementation of a standardized and repeatable operating model.
• Partner and collaborate with peers to drive process improvements across all IT towers.
• Monitor emerging technologies and manage current relationships with 3rd party technology vendors
• Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports by establishing work priorities as they perform their duties to achieve company initiatives
• Be responsible for hiring, retaining and mentoring the best talent.
• Be responsible to plan and manage the budget for your teams and projects
• Identify trends and opportunities to enhance business performance; provide recommendations to align the engineering strategy to streamlined operations.
• Maintain visibility into plans across various business units to support incoming growth.

• Ensures adherence to protocols for 24x7x365 response and notifications for alarms, emergencies, or critical incidents.
• Insure proper reporting exists to report on the health and performance of the operational function.
• Collaborate with and understand the needs of the business and ensure that all operational activities are directed towards meeting specific business goals and service levels.
• Ensures compliance to operational controls
• Establishes and maintains strong vendor relationships
• Sponsor and deliver key project initiatives to implement new services or improve existing services.
• Maintains and manages day to day operations of Regeneron's Infrastructure Environment
Education and Qualifications
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related technical field or equivalent practical experience

Skills and Experience
• Experience transforming and recognizing the benefits of transforming the IT Operations organization through consolidation of sourcing providers.
• 10+ years of experience with running and managing day to day IT operations for large data center and cloud based or virtualized environments
• 6+ years of supervisory or managerial experience with a proven ability to engage, motivate, evaluate and mentor team members and managers
• Experience supporting 24x7 business operations with a track record of managing teams that supported engineering highly virtualized and automated services.
• Clear understanding of ITIL v3 and experience implementing it in other organizations
• Experience with on-premises data center and / or Cloud based Disaster Recovery
• Vendor management experience including contract negotiations, price negotiations, commercial terms, and outsourcing
• Experience with regulatory compliance control are required. GxP and SOX are preferred.
• Experience building and leading high performing operations and systems engineering teams
• Experience with operating large???scale, highly available systems through capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure architecture
• P&L experience; ability to create and manage IT budgets, contractor/vendor relations (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effectively interact with all levels of management from application developers to the CIO.
• Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships, internally and externally.
