**What do I need to accomplish in the first 3-6 months in order to be successful?:**

1. Learn all internal processes and practices relevant to IMI HR; and, demonstrate expertise in those processes.

2. Work with the Sr. HRBP Life Sciences to ensure consistency in practices across multiple site locations.

3. Understand how HR impacts and supports operations within their assigned business units; and, ensure HR is well positioned to help operations meet on-going goals and objectives.

**What are the 3 things I MUST HAVE in my background in order to be considered for this position?:**

1. Bachelors Degree in HR or related field preferred.

2. 3 to 5 years of administrative experience in human resources or related field

3. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information


**Reports To:** Sr. HR Business Partner

**Location:** Farmington, CT

The HR Generalist works closely with the Sr. HR Business Partner (HRBP) to deliver seamless HR Services to Life Sciences Team Members. This role requires exceptional communication, organizational skills and commitment to collaboration; and also requires the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders. This position also serves as a cultural ambassador to applicants, new hires, and employees.

+ Provides management support in filling open positions including development of compliant job descriptions, coordination of sourcing efforts and coordination of/participation in candidate screening and interviews.

+ Oversees Team Member transactions including employee on-boarding, changes, terminations and all other actions requiring HRIS processing and documentation.

+ Provides support to managers in addressing employee performance and development issues via training, coaching and disciplinary action.

+ Coordinates with Sr. HRBP on employee relations and resulting investigations to ensure organizational equity and legislative compliance.

+ Partners with the Sr. HRBP to roll-out Team Member programs such as performance management, compensation planning, benefits enrollment and compliance initiatives.

+ Provides on-going customer support to Team Members by answering questions and providing documents relating to HR programs, policies, benefits and other related items such as oversight of leave processing in accordance with applicable legislative guidance.

+ Identifies opportunities for process improvements relating to HR transactions and identifies ways that the HR Team might better serve the business.

+ Maintains compliance with federal and state employment regulations.

+ Maintains employee records and documents in accordance with governing laws and company policies and complies with all relevant document retention practices and timelines.

+ Assists in the development, implementation, administration and tracking of employee recognition programs.

+ Assists in the development, implementation, administration and tracking of the company's Affirmative Action Plan.

+ Develops, coordinates and distributes a variety of company announcements including and general employee communications.

+ Coordinates company events as required.

+ Perform other duties as assigned based on business need.


**Education and Experience**

+ Bachelors Degree in HR or related field preferred.

+ 3 to 5 years of administrative experience in human resources or related field.


+ Knowledge of applicable state and federal legislation governing employment practices.

+ Client-service orientation with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

+ Detail orientation and strong project management skills

+ Proven ability to execute.

+ Exceptional capability to learn and quickly put new skills into play.

+ Ability to work independently yet demonstrates the necessary knowledge and judgment to immediately escalate issues representing a potential business risk.

+ Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a fast-paced environment.

+ Demonstrated ability to keep information confidential and an on-going commitment to produce high quality work.

+ Strong interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills.

+ Superior verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy.

**Computers and Technology**

+ Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

+ Knowledge of HRIS Systems with ADP experience preferred.

**Certificates and Licensure**

+ HRCI aPHR, PHR or SHRM CP certification preferred.
