Oversee all aspects of live news, taped shows or events, commercial production and breaking news. Responsibilities include directing and switching daily newscasts, running audio, designing and producing newscast graphics, program segmenting & ingest and supervising the production crew.

Essential Functions

Ensure production crew works together effectively and efficiently to create the show they have been planning. Work closely with the TV producers to make sure the programs are professionally done, aired on time and free from error.

Aid in developing program visual elements and "look" of set. Direct live and taped programming. Provide overall technical coordination. Assist with scheduling and crew replacement as necessary. Substitute in production positions as needed. Initiate and follow up on service/repair requests on production equipment. Ensure proper video and audio signals. Maintain high standards for use of video effects. Read, interpret and generate rundowns.

Participate in station-sponsored events and all assigned special projects.Basic Qualifications:

Proficient in iNews.

Two years of related work experience including: Responsibility for performing work as director and/or technical director of a news program.

Experience with Automatic Production Systems (Ross Overdrive preferred), Windows-based client PC systems, touch controls, video production switchers, graphics systems (Chyron, Ross Expression), audio mixers, video playback servers and systems, audio cart and playback servers, communication/intercom systems

Work quickly under pressure in an on-air environment

Team player with strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills.

Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift

Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT.

Must be a member or be willing to become a member of the IBEW union.

Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.

Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Must be 18 years or older.
