Position Overview:

The Associate Director provides HR generalist support and serves as a trusted leader, advisor and business partner committed to the growth and development of Consumer Reports and its employees. Responsible for developing and implementing HR solutions that align talent behind our strategy, goals, and mission.

Qualifications Include:

* A bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field and a minimum of seven years of HR generalist experience in a media or publishing organization.

* Adaptable, analytical and creative with strong communication skills. Able to present information and drive decision making by relying on both data and storytelling capabilities.

* Strong HR and business acumen with demonstrated success serving as a true HR business partner to leadership

* Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to remain calm in tense situations and to appropriately manage sensitive and confidential information

* Ability to manage multiple priorities

* Strong technical skills including Excel, HRIS, and PowerPoint

Key Responsibilities:

* Provides human resources generalist support to an assigned client group with an emphasis on employee relations, performance management, talent/leadership development, and organizational design.

* Builds effective relationships with managers and employees, serving as a key business partner and trusted counsel to staff.

* Develops and executes programs that align staff around CR's strategic plan, departmental goals, and a prioritized set of initiatives.

* Maintains an effective level of business knowledge to proactively influence, educate, and implement change, as well as build and retain a diverse, high performance workforce.

* Delivers appropriate coaching and development feedback to help managers become more effective and progressive leaders.

* Partners with HR experts in talent acquisition, talent development, labor relations, and total rewards to provide the tools, resources and processes required to execute on CR's strategy and foster a culture of excellence.

* Works with talent acquisition to identify, interview, and hire key talent.

* Collaborates with labor relations experts to anticipate, avoid and resolve labor and employee relations at individual and organizational levels.

* Works with compensation experts to implement salary planning and recognition programs, and develop accurate job descriptions for new, existing, and promotional opportunities.

* Partners with learning and development to deliver customized training for individuals and groups, as well as helps create and provide organization-wide learning programs.

* Serves as program lead for performance management and goal setting for client group, including facilitating communications, training, coaching, and process and system support.
