Job Description:

Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES+ 1. The individual must be able carry out a variety of moderate to complex laboratory techniques including: flow cytometric analysis and sterile sorting, development and implementation of fluorescence assays, tissue cell culture of monoclonal antibody producing cell lines, purification of antibodies using affinity purification columns, ELISA assay development and implementation, and immunohistochemistry techniques. 2. The individual must be able to collect data and critically analyze individual experiments under the supervision of the responsible investigator and maintain adequate notebooks. Record keeping is extremely important. 3. The individual will participate in the analysis and design of experiments with the responsible investigator. 4. Maintain a well stocked, tidy, and safe lab environment. 5. Occasionally provide written and oral communications of your work. Qualifications: BS/BA Degree with 1-3 years of experience. Must meet all state and local licensing requirements where the laboratory is located and must meet CLIA requirements.Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing laboratories. Understanding and assistance in quality control / quality improvement programs, staining QC, programs / reports. Continuing Education Program and training new hires. Working knowledge and understanding of computers. Knowledge of all departmental policies and procedures. Familiarity of State and Federal regulations governing laboratories.Practice of good laboratory safety.Good technical skills and working knowledge of computers and budget. Independent judgment required to meet common goal. Cooperative working relationships with peers and management. Independent judgment required to meet common goal. Cooperative working relationships with peers and management. Dependable, flexible and adaptable in all aspects of work. Strong interpersonal skills. Must possess supervisory skills. The ability to provide leadership and direction toward subordinates. The ability to train new hires. Exceptional analytical and organizational skills. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTSCommunicate problems or matters that need attention to the Vice President and/or Director of Operations.Maintain budget.Maintain equipment maintenance listing and lot.
