Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) is critical in executing key HR initiatives, providing responsive internal employee support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This individual advises and counsels leaders and line managers in helping to resolve complex employee relations activities including but not limited to: investigations, grievances, discipline, performance issues, and policy questions while ensuring accurate interpretation and administration of HR policies and programs. The HR Manager also assists leaders and line managers with developing and enhancing their personal leadership style and management effectiveness through group and one-one coaching. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues Provides advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices to promote an ethical and compliant work environment Works with management team on all employee issues such as progressive disciplines, involuntary terminations, leave of absence, ADA requests, benefits eligibility and enrollment, etc. as well as promotions and employee recognition programs Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees with specific focus on: employee relations, performance management, career development and talent assessment, hiring and retention, employee advocacy / engagement, and application and training on workplace policy processes Assist leadership team with managing employee relations issues and ensure concerns are properly identified, reported and resolved Must be able to conduct investigations in response to employee complaints and assist managers in responding to those complaints Responsible for responding to unemployment claims as necessary to include hearing preparation and attendance Ensures timely and consistent administration of the performance appraisal process to include providing guidance to management; ensuring performance evaluations and employee action forms are delivered and submitted timely Hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal, state and local requirements Conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes Assists managers with candidate selection and temp labor staffing to include temp labor contract administration in collaboration with the General Manager (GM) and corporate human resources May manage the applicant tracking system to include posting jobs; ensuring proper processing of applicants; initiating pre-employment screens; and extending offers in accordance with company guidelines Partner with corporate HR business partners to execute business-specific HR strategies Responsible for communicating and providing updates on all human resources issues to the GM and Corporate HR on a regular basis Responsible for the administration or oversight of all HR related paperwork from hire to termination which includes new hire orientation and paperwork, employee changes, employee terminations, benefits eligibility and monthly / annual enrollment, unemployment claims, worker's compensation and OSHA reporting and administration Responsible for insuring that all personnel files maintained in the field offices are complete according to the company personnel file guidelines and are kept in a secured location Work with management to monitor turnover; ensures operation is conducting exit interviews to identify and evaluate causes of turnover; assist management in developing an action plan to address causes of turnover Recommends new approaches to policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed Maintain and protect confidential and personal information and data demonstrating discretion, judgment, and care Provide coaching and mentorship to management team Assist with other HR special projects or initiatives as needed Serves as the liaison to corporate HR LogistiCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
