Job Description:

Job Title: Associate Buyer/Expeditor (Non - Exempt) - Entry Level Position Department: Purchasing Reports to: Operation's Manager SUMMARY Work closely with other functions as an important member of the Oxley team. Develop, maintain, and utilize world-class purchasing procedures. Procure materials and services. Measure and manage suppliers to maintain a capable, high quality supply base. Obtain quotes and process requisitions. Negotiate and ensure best pricing is being achieved on all materials. Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and maintain appropriate replenishment systems for Oxley purchased raw materials and services (kanban, MRP, reorder point, etc.)Monitor future orders and forecasts, use the data to adjust the replenishment system levels as necessaryPlace purchase orders and process purchase requisitionsReturn non confirming parts to vendors and schedule replacement partsAttend and participate in Material Review Boards (MRB) and monitor vendors performance, report finding to vendorsMaintain supplier rating system and maintain highly qualified, high quality supply base. Keep approved suppliers' list updatedProvide production floor and planner assistance as neededMaintain Computer ERP system with accurate part and supplier information as requiredMaintain AS9100 compliant procedures. Ensure activities are compliant with these and other company proceduresObtain quotations from vendors. Document competitive bidding in a logical filing systemObtain quotes and materials for development programs and one-off prototype buildsCommunicate regularly within the value stream and overall business.Perform other duties as required QUALIFICATIONSPC literacy in general office software, e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook etc.Bachelor's Degree or equivalentExcellent communication skills and time management skillsUS Citizen or Green Card Holder EXPERIENCE1-3 Years of purchasing or customer service experienceRelated work experience in a manufacturing environment - an advantage ADDITIONAL SKILLSAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsAbility to multitask and handle multiple complicated projects at one time ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSWork cooperatively as an integral member of a cross-functional teamProactively identify and drive improvements in purchasing/planning and other areas throughout the businessPossess a desire to learn and growWork with minimal supervisionAbility to develop into a supervisory role as Oxley continues to grow WORK ENVIRONMENTDesk environmentOccasional travel may be required
