Danone North America, a leader in the yogurt category, and makers such brands as of Dannon Oikos, Light & Fit and Activia is looking for a leader who can set the vision and lead the Shopper Marketing function for our U.S. Division. This role will be challenged with accelerating growth through the entire Dannon portfolio by transforming the experience people have with our brands across the path to purchase. We seek a dynamic leader who can think of shopper marketing in a nontraditional way and who can thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The right candidate can think strategically, act pragmatically and influence across the organization.

The Director of Shopper Marketing will be a critical member of the Extended Marketing Leadership Team and partner with the entire marketing group to strengthen our brands and achieve our business goals. A strategic and action-oriented mindset is critical for success in this role. The Director will report to the Vice President, Marketing Strategy and Capabilities.

Responsibilities of the role include:

* Lead the Shopper Marketing function to deliver strategic, smart and creative marketing solutions along the path to purchase - including media-to-shelf, merchandising, trial vehicles, mobile, content, portfolio and customer programs.

* Work in close partnerships with Strategy & Insights team to translate consumer, retailer and shopper understanding into innovative and effective marketing programs.

* Collaborate with marketing teams to activate brand platforms with consumers as shoppers throughout the path to purchase.

* Partner with field marketing teams to understand retailer's objectives in order to build strategic programs that deliver win - win programs for Dannon brands, retailers and shoppers.

* Work with the Insights team to establish the shopper learning agenda and answer critical marketing questions. Drive insight-driven marketing programs and data-based decision making.

* Lead brand and agency teams in development of strategies and tactics that deliver successful launch of innovation, grounded in brand, consumer, shoppers and retailer insights.

* Manage agency relationships and brand shopper budgets, while identifying opportunities for best practices, better suppliers, relevant new tools, innovative techniques and optimization.

* Lead, coach and develop the Shopper Marketing team, including members of both the brand organization as well as field marketing teams. Manage one direct report, with dotted line reports from brand teams and field marketing teams.

* Know how to structure and deliver ideas clearly, crisply, and compellingly. Excellent verbal and written skills with proven ability to champion recommendations and influence decisions at all levels of the company.


* BA/BS required, MBA/masters preferred.

* 8+ years of work experience in shopper / field marketing or related positions required.

* Prior experience leveraging consumer and shopper insights to develop innovative and effective marketing programs and campaigns.

* Experience in fast moving consumer goods preferred.

* 5+ years managing teams required.
