Job Description:

INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS NEEDED ASAP IN WEST HARTFORD, CT - 8:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.

Community-based Alternative Special Education school is seeking a qualified Instructional Assistant to provide 1:1 support services to high school students with developmental disabilities.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Academic support
Community inclusion activities
Vocational job coaching
Teach life skills
Behavior management

Pre-employment drug testing required as condition of employment. must be able to pass DMV requirements for a "V" endorsement on driver license.

Acceptable Qualifications / Skills

Bachelors degree
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
Excellent independent assessment skills
Observation and organizational skills
Good interpersonal skills in a variety of settings
Ability to effectively present oneself orally and in writing
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
Ability to work independently with general supervision
Excellent computer skills
