Job Description

Job Summary:

The Customer Service Rep initial contact for the public. Handles inquiries, completes correspondence, accepts private payments and posts cash on a daily basis.


* Maintains/portrays a professional/knowledgeable atmosphere for dealing with the public on a daily basis.

* Maintains patient confidentiality.

* Accurately posts payments received.

* Produces receipts as required.

* Scans documents including correspondence and Explanation of Benefits (EOB).

* Answers incoming phone calls.

* Documents patient inquiries on the electronic patient account.

* Reviews and processes patient refunds within established standards from the point of discovery, notification or assignment.

* Addresses patient concerns within established standards from the point of discovery or notification.

* Attends all team and department meetings.

* Other Duties as assigned


Education & Experience:

* HS or Equivalent

* Associates Degree preferred

* Experience working with health Insurnace billing and/or claims processing through employment with Insurance company or health provider.

* Excellent customer service skills, as well as customer service experience desired.

* Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a healthcare, credit card or banking environment.
