Job Summary

+ The major objective of this role is to provide exceptional customer service when answering and responding to incoming telephone calls to the Medical Services toll-free phone lines.

+ Answering and triaging all calls to the medical services toll-free line and triaging emails to the Medical Services Department.Verbally responding to nonmedical inquiries Documenting in a computerized database the caller's name and contact information, the question, and the response given, when appropriate, all while the caller is on the line. Data entry of written inquiries and sending of medical responses by either mail or fax.Daily review and confirm receipt of calls handled from afterhours vendor.

+ The Medical Services Department is a fast-paced industry-based drug information center that responds to medical inquiries from health care professionals, patients, and other customers regarding the Company's prescription and over-the-counter products.


+ Assist in answering and triage of incoming phone calls to the Medical Services Department (daily call volume into the department is approximately 40-60 calls per day) and triaging emails to the Medical Services Dept.

+ Responding to nonmedical inquiries such as financial assistance, savings programs, coupons, rebates, sale representative visits, etc.

+ Documenting in a computerized database the caller's name and contact information, the question, and the response given, when appropriate, all while the caller is on the line.

+ Data entry of written inquiries and sending of medical responses by either mail or fax.

+ Daily review and confirm receipt of calls handled from after-hours vendor. Monthly reconciliation of invoices from third party vendor.-Manage, record and ensure staff complete review and/or training on various departmental documents-Administrative support for Medical Services Department-Maintenance of the reference and literature files for the department.

+ Additional projects or assignments as needed.


+ Must have excellent customer service and telephone communication skills and enjoy speaking with customers on the telephone.

+ Proficient in using MS Word and Outlook.

+ Strong organizational and task prioritization skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, attention to detail, flexibility, team-oriented, and professional demeanor are a necessity.

+ Familiar with medical terminology and Company product names and generic names and their uses in order to effectively triage the incoming calls.

+ Answering and documenting calls to the medical inquiries toll-free line and responding to non-medical inquiries from consumers and other customers.
