We have an exciting opportunity for a Receiving Clerk at our Stamford Location. The Receiving Clerk will support the operations of this location by receiving incoming material, counting and inventorying items as well as tracking and recording product information to ensuring business operates on schedule.

Some of the resposibilities include:

+ Physically receives and inspects incoming materials and products for damages.

+ Verifies quantities against records of shipments and notifies vendors of any shortages,

+ Identifies damaged or defective items and discrepancies in quantities at time of receipt and follows up to correct discrepancies as appropriate.

+ Stags materials in proper locations according to company procedures.

+ Invoices all special order products to the customer and notifies them when order has arrived.

+ Segregates and tags all special orders.

+ Verify stock levels of all products, correct counts if inaccurate and places orders from approved vendors.

+ Correct any receiving discrepancies noted by accounts payable.

+ Conducts weekly counts and report any discrepancies.

+ Verify that all commodity stock is rotated as necessary.

+ Responsible for securing of highly pilfered items

+ Assist with counter sales and with answering incoming calls.

+ Assist with putting stock away if necessary

+ Assist with dispatching, yard duties and operating the forklift.

+ Secure cash till at all times, open and close the location if needed.

+ Assist with manager with any duties as directed

+ High School Diploma

+ Minimum 3 years of experience in lumber or construction industry

+ Working knowledge of MS word, Excel or similar computer software systems.

+ Ability to accurately complete arithmetic computations to successfully perform the duties of the job.

Essential Functions:

Attendance at work and punctuality is an essential function of this position.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Basic math skills.

+ Ability to communicate effectively with vendors in English.

+ Required frequently: standing, walking kneeling, squatting, bending reaching, and work in hot or cold temperatures.

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices and department manuals
