Plan, set-up and perform a variety of processes to maintain the flow of work to manufacture heat exchanger cores and related products for environmental control systems while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures.


* Set-up and operate a variety of equipment such as power and brake presses, finforming equipment, spot welders, and belt sanders to cut, form, trim, fit, bend, and saw material to fabricate detail parts to established methods and procedures.

* Set-up and operate a variety of equipment to fabricate and test air bearings.

* Clean, prepare, fabricate, and assemble various parts for brazing.

* Mix and apply braze alloy and coatings as required.

* Set-up, program and operate furnaces for heat treat and brazing.

* Perform proof pressure and leakage tests.

* Monitor the flow of work, recommend and implement changes to maintain deliveries to customer requirements.

* Receive, unload, check, record, prepare, inventory, store, disburse and deliver a variety of materials, products and equipment.

* Maintain rough stores, cribs, gage cabinets and point of use storage areas. Order, organize and store such items as supplies, materials, chemicals and tools.

* Participate in review, analysis and ordering of purchased parts and materials to ensure appropriate inventory levels. Communicate with suppliers on delivery and quality concerns.

* Review open purchased and shop part requirements. Review regularly with internal suppliers and purchasing.Coordinate and expedite deliveries as required.

* Use various measuring instruments such as hardness testers, micrometers, voltage, temperature, and current monitors. Monitor and adjust equipment, processes and fluids to specifications.

* Prepare micros and test pieces using equipment such as grinders, cutters, sanders and polishers.

* Prepare material for lab test. Release purchased material from receiving inspection.

* Check calibration of equipment in accordance with procedures, take temperature uniformity surveys, record and document as required.

* Check work visually and dimensionally using required documentation to verify configurations, quality, and identify nonconformance from workmanship of self and others.

* Modify or make a variety of simple tooling.

* Perform periodic maintenance and minor repair of equipment.

* Participate in audits of processes, procedures and work areas.

* Use computers and office equipment to record and process transactions.

* Utilize and maintain all necessary documentation such as logs, reports, charts, sampling plans, statistical process control records, and nonconformance documents.

* Instruct one or two fellow employees in the proper performance of duties.

* Utilize statistical methods to monitor process control and capability. Use data to investigate areas for potential process improvement.

* Improve processes and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and technical support.

* Move parts and materials to designated locations in accordance with material flow procedures, and initiate follow-up lists.

* Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized.

* Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function.

Training shift to be determined. Qualifications Up to three months work experience required. Education High School diploma or equivalent required
