VHB's growing Wethersfield, CT team is looking for a Survey Technician to join our Wethersfield, CT office for a temporary assignment of 1-4 months.

* Perform various land surveying tasks under the direction of more senior Land Surveyors including:

* Operation, transport and setup of Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS, and other Land Surveying equipment.

* Reconnaissance and recovery of Land Surveying markers through use of hand tools and digging.

* Perform construction stakeout of proposed improvements, including installation of stakes through use of sledgehammers and hand tools.

* Maintain proper care of all survey equipment

* Document all phases of survey work.

Skills and Abilities:

* Understands basics of Boundary Survey, Topographic, Construction/Utility Surveys and electronic data collecting capabilities

* Ability to learn the proper use of GPS equipment and Robotic Instruments and mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of geometry

* Knowledge of Civil 3D software and/or MicroStation software is preferred

* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

* Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

* Motivated to lead and mentor others


* 0 to 3 years of prior experience, progressive land surveying experience strongly preferred

* A certificate or degree in Land Surveying is preferred

* Requires valid Driver's license, good driving record and ability to operate company vehicles, including large cargo vans.
