Job Description Summary:

This position leads and is responsible for the planning, development and construction of the Company's solar projects. The position will ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule and within budget. Leads securing approval for permits and licenses, budgets, materials, contractors and other resources. The position may represent Eversource as the expert witness in regulatory proceedings. This position uses formal processes and tools to manage project resources in order to ensure on-time completion in accordance with approved specifications, schedules and budget. Apprise management of project status, and recommends modifications to resources, schedule and budget as necessary.

Essential Functions:

* Overall responsibility to complete strategic, critical and complex projects on schedule, as well as within budget and scope.

* Directs the project planning process for all solar projects.

* Coordination of regulatory approvals and interface with regulators and local elected officials and town department managers.

* Coordination of land acquisition transactions.

* Coordinates the appropriate due diligence assessments (environmental, geotechnical, electrical, etc) and arranges the necessary permitting / zoning approvals needed to begin construction.

* Leads and integrates all studies analyses and planning in support of construction projects and is responsible for securing approval for permits and licenses, budgets, materials, contractors and other resources.

* Directs and ensures projects meet pre-determined objectives concerning quality, technical specifications, reliability, schedule and budget.

* Obtains, directs, integrates and coordinates internal and external resources and ensures material and equipment are delivered on time.

* Responsible for the selection of Eversource and contract employees needed for the project team based on the technical and behavioral skills required to support the project.

* Responsible for determining assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members and assists with the oversight and assessment of their performance.

* Monitors project progress, advises management and recommends schedule changes, cost and resource adjustments as required.

* Ensures all pre-construction project work is conducted in a manner consistent with the Company's safety policies and programs.

* Ensures that improvements in systems, processes and procedures are identified and implemented.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

Requires extensive knowledge in the theoretical and practical application of project management techniques and tools including project management software. Also requires knowledge of design and construction of electrical energy infrastructure. Knowledge of federal, state and local permitting and licensing of energy infrastructure preferred. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills.


Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline. MS in Engineering or MBA preferred.


Minimum of ten years directing groups engaged in energy infrastructure construction and project management. Demonstrated experience in developing, integrating and completing the construction of major projects.
