The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in the areas of high performance computing, especial as it relates to efficient numerical methods for parallel/cloud computation, graph theory, and mathematics on graphs, with strong emphasis on analysis and algorithm development. Of particular interest are demonstrated skills in these areas for industrial problems. Qualifications The successful candidate will have technical expertise in large-scale computations, including the formulation of distributed optimization / estimation / control problems over large graphs / networks. Particularly sought are candidates with knowledge of advanced numerical methods, with experience using GPUs in the computational environment; Expertise in spectral and algebraic graph theory and demonstrated skills in asynchronous computations for large dynamic networks; and Modeling and computations in a parallel environment (100+ nodes). Previous experience with applications of such methods for large, complex engineering systems and large dynamic networks in an industrial setting is highly desirable. Besides technical excellence, very strong teaming and communications skills, together with an entrepreneurial attitude towards innovation, are essential.

Additional requirements for the position are:

* Expertise in object-oriented programming in C++, C#, or Java.

* Experience implementing, analyzing, and optimizing numerical methods for the solution of large-scale systems, including systems of ODEs, PDEs, and DAEs.

* Strong background in high-performance computing, including developing algorithms for parallel architectures and the use of GPUs.

* Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink.

* A record of publications in the areas of numerical analysis, the numerical solution of large scale ODEs and DAEs, algebraic graph theory, and computational optimization methods in peer reviewed, archival journals.

Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work on cross-disciplinary teams are required. Education Preferred: Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering.

MS in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering with 5+ years of industrial experience may be considered.
