CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Construction Inspection Technical Leader to work in any of the following CHA office locations:

* Indianapolis, IN

* Albany, NY

* Buffalo, NY

However, we are also open to other CHA office locations.

The Technical Leader will be responsible for the management of staff in his/her respective discipline. This individual will be measured on the technical quality, utilization of his/her discipline's staff across all markets, and adherence to project budgets.


* Technical leader of respective discipline - This individual will assist in design development, will make the final decisions on technical issues related to his/her discipline, and will be responsible for signing and stamping plans. In addition, this individual will work with the Sr. Vice President of Engineering to establish the appropriate standards and quality checks and implement them to ensure the staff will adhere to that process. He/she will also assist the Project Managers within the markets on scope/fee development for work within the technical discipline.

* Management of technical staff within discipline - The Technical Leader will be responsible for the hiring, terminating, promotion, recognition, and overall growth and performance of the technical staff within the discipline. This individual will do so by coordinating with Human Resources and the Technical Group Services Leader for their hiring/separations efforts, completing staff's Career & Professional Development plans and performance appraisals, and rewarding technical staff for performance. This individual will also be responsible for the development and execution of technical training and regular communication with his/her staff.

* Plan staff allocation - This individual will work closely with the markets' Project Managers on project assignments to plan staff workload, assess backlog, and maximize the utilization goals of the technical staff within the respective technical group. This individual will also manage his/her staff's adherence to project budgets that are coordinated between this individual and the markets' Project Managers.

* Allocate billable time to projects within market - This individual will be responsible for meeting a utilization goal by performing work on billable projects.

* Assist with marketing development efforts - This individual will assist the markets with identification of appropriate leads and potential new clients, proposal support, interviews, and in obtaining new work that will support their technical groups where appropriate.

* Other related duties, as assigned.


* A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

* Minimum of 10-12 years of experience is required.

* Professional technical licensure is required (i.e. Engineering, Landscape Architect, Land Surveyor) or equivalent professional experience.

* Technically astute to manage the activity within the discipline.

* An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups.

* A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader.

* Strong ability to resolve matters that arise within the discipline.

* Strong experience with project budgeting.

* Demonstrates a strong understanding of internal accounting processes.

* Demonstrates a strong knowledge of company's technical processes.

* Proven to be an effective manager and leader.

* Valid driver's license.
