This position is responsible for the HR Manager Generalist responsibilities for the UTC Corporate employees based in Europe as well as the UTRC facilities in Italy & Ireland. The position will have responsibility for effective execution of all Human Resources processes and initiatives in the areas of recruiting, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, leadership & employee development, performance management and employee relations for the UTC employees in Europe including the two UTRC facilities, the Internal Audit and Government Relations functions, and the European Financial Leadership Program. The position will be based in either Italy or Ireland.


* Ensure proper staffing level, infuse talent into the organization and improve bench strength. Create and implement innovative and cost effective strategies and tactics to attract and retain top talent at all levels of the organization.

* Objectively assess and bring employee relations issues to resolution. Demonstrate the ability to counsel employees on HR processes and procedures, performance management and career planning.

* Inform strategic direction of European Financial Leadership Program and serve as program manager

* Assist and coach managers regarding employee relations, interviewing and selection, performance management and employee development.

* Develop strong working relationships with clients by providing effective and timely human resources services

* Utilize standard processes and best practices to align human resource initiatives with business objectives.

* Advise managers on compensation-related decisions to ensure competitiveness and internal equity

* Leverage ACE/lean initiatives tools and methodology to align with business needs.

Update local HR policies and provide guidance to employees on these and other UTC HR policies.

* Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental regulations.


* 5-10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in HR serving as an HR Business Partner; experience in international environments; ideal candidate has thorough experience in international candidate sourcing and recruitment

* Knowledge of HR laws and regulations throughout Europe

* Staffing and recruiting experience is required

* Demonstrated experience influencing HR practices effectively across all levels of the organization.

* Ability and demonstrated skills leading change through organization in HR roles.

* Ability to communicate with all levels of management; Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills.

* Proven customer focused experience and excellent business judgment.

Strong analytical, systems, and critical thinking skills. Must work well under pressure and have the flexibility to manage multiple demands.

* Experience in managing conflict and diffusing potential difficult situations

* Project Management skills / experience; highly organized with strong attention to detail.

* Teamwork

* Ability to work independently and effectively in a diverse and dynamic work environment.

* Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential material and possess good business judgment.

* Strong command in English (Italian also preferred)

Education Bachelor's degree required, Human Resources or related field preferred; MA/MS/MBA in Human Resources or related field preferred
