* Sell and promote facility solutions products & value-added services to meet or exceed both short term & long term goals in an established territory;

* Engage in sales calls on customers and prospects at a frequency that places Veritiv in the preferred position;

* Develop a sufficient number of high potential prospects to guarantee future sales growth;

* Build Customer relationships by investing in manufacturer visits, internal and external resource engagement, etc.;

* Plan sales and gross profit activities on a long term basis. Develop objectives and action plans for our strategically targeted customer segments;

* Maintain accurate, detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the potential of each account in assigned territory;

* Develop and maintain vendor relationships through goal setting and sales calls;

* Investigate and resolve all customer claims promptly. Participate in resolution with all involved parties;

* Maintain all system information in a timely, accurate and complete manner, including price records, strategic account planning documentation and vendor engagement logs;

* Demonstrated successful experience in territory sales, or as a key account manager required.

* Strong understanding or experience in the distribution industry desired;

* College degree or equivalent work experience required.

* Experience in project management and demonstrated understanding of distribution finance essential.

* Ability to work independently, successfully manage accounts, work under pressure, and adapt to changes in the work environment.

* Spend greater than 80% of time calling on customers

* May be requested to perform other duties not listed above.


* 3 to 5 years of successful selling experience, preferably in the distribution area.

* College degree or equivalent work experience required.

* Outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

* Excellent working knowledge of the Facility Solutions business, and related products

* Be a sales growth driven person with an entrepreneurial skill set.

* Ability to work with others in a team environment.

A significant portion of the incumbent's job responsibilities will require PC work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for frequent periods of time. The incumbent is required to talk, see and hear. The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The incumbent must be able to travel to and from sales calls.

Professional office environment: Greater than 80% of time spent preparing for and calling on customers. Travel overnight to mills/manufacturers, trade shows, training sessions, and customers.

Equipment: Personal computer, laser printer, telephone/cellular phone, fax, copier, calculator, pager and personal transportation.
