Job Description Summary:

Role and Scope of Position:

This Manager, Inside Sales is responsible for leading the development and performance of an office-based inside sales team consisting of Eversource employees and third party sales resources. The incumbent ensures achievement of quarterly and annual goals for acquiring new residential single family, residential sub-divisions and small to mid-size commercial customers located along and near our natural gas mains. Oversees the development/use of direct sales strategies and cold calling/prospecting tactics and ensures effective coordination with marketing and sales fulfillment departments.

* Manages an inside sales team of sales that cold calls prospective customers and follows-up on leads generated through marketing programs and website inquiries in order to achieve quarterly and annual customer acquisition targets.

* Ensures Company policies and procedures regarding pipe extensions, rate terms and conditions, load and revenue estimation, supplier terms and conditions are properly communicated and implemented.

* Facilitates process improvements, effective communications, training and coaching to ensure sales team's success.

* Ensure effective cross-functional collaboration within Gas as well as with other Eversource departments.

* Collaborate with marketing, support, community management, internal systems, product management and account management to facilitate new programs, messages, campaigns and offerings.

* Oversee resource planning, reporting, territories, incentives and communications for the assigned team.

* Coordinates with Field Sales to acquire new customers in the most cost-effective manner and close as many sales as possible.

Qualifications:

* Requires strong sales, sales management and marketing skills. Also requires understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements. Requires excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, management, negotiation and presentation skills, as well as business acumen. Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point).

* Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline. May consider equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred.

* Minimum of ten (10) years in sales and marketing, including five (5) years managing sales teams. Experience in Natural Gas Sales is strongly preferred.
