Job Title: Junior Desktop Support Technician

Employee Qualifications:

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to complete tasks

* Ability to take direction from supervisors

* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues

* High school diploma or equivalency (college or post-high school technical training preferred)

* Demonstrated competency as an independent worker, team player, and analytical thinker

* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

* Demonstrated competency in the following areas:

* Troubleshooting and making minor repairs to computers, Chromebook, printers and other technology equipment

* Troubleshooting PCs running Windows operating

* Troubleshooting Apple computers running OSX operating systems

* Passing a background check

* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Reports to:

Network Specialist and/or Director of Instructional Technology

Job Goal:

To help ensure that district technology is working and available to students and staff

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

* Perform preventative maintenance tasks on computers, projectors and other technology

* Review tech issues reported by staff, analyze and troubleshoot to determine cause of problem, and take steps to resolve issue(s) in a timely and efficient manner.

* Provide users with updates on progress until issue is resolved.

* Recommend upgrades to technology equipment as needed

* Perform computer repairs. Return defective parts to manufacturer in a timely manner

* Research vendor websites for upgrades, and other information relevant to computers and software/applications and perform and implement needed changes/upgrades

* Maintain a log of work performed on a per job basis

* Install software/applications

* Set up LCD projectors and laptops for staff as needed

* Prepare and organize non-working equipment for recycling

* Assist with district technology inventory and asset tracking management

* Create documentation with respect to end-user instruction for technology usage

* Assist with support for audio-visual devices and distance education hardware and software

* Assume and perform other duties as directed by superintendent, supervisor or designee

Terms of Employment:

Twelve month work year. Salary and benefits to be determined by the Director of Human Resources.
