The AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP) Division is a global leader in the development and production of an array of superior metal products. The Precision Tube and Strip (PT&S) Business Unit specializes in the development and production of precision metal tubes, high quality specialty metal strip, specialty metal wire and similar advanced engineered materials. The four (4) PT&S BU locations in Wallingford, CT, Lancaster, PA, Collegeville, PA and Plymouth, UK generate sales in excess of $200 million and have a diverse team of more than 625 associates.


Operates heavy gauge reduction line, powder processing, blending, soak furnaces and NX line by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates blender, heavy gauge reduction line, soak furnaces, NX line, and performs powder processing per established work instructions.

Starts and shuts down furnaces according to standard operating practices. Brings furnaces to established temperature and adjusts Nitrogen and Hydrogen flows to appropriate levels for different alloys.

This position will be cross trained to be qualified to operate the compaction mill.

Performs quality checks to insure product meets internal and customer specifications using various measuring devices.

Completes all required paperwork.

Performs training for other operators, as needed.

Performs all safety and quality checks on the equipment and perform required preventive maintenance and other maintenance as required.

Must be able to perform multiple functions on a daily basis.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
