POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Coordinator, Older Girl Program is responsible for implementing the tactical plans of council programming with a focus on programming for Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador levels. Program design will help retain both girl and adult members and attract new members. She/he will plan and implement program opportunities across the council, create resources, and oversee the Girl Scout Gold Award process.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Provides guidance and support to the Gold Award Committee, enabling them to best serve girls in their Gold Award Journey.

* Acts as a resource for the Gold Award, interpreting GSUSA standards and creating council specific resources.

* Based on the Plan of Achievement and needs of our members, plans and implements council sponsored events for older girls.

* Related to events and resources, assists in the development and implementation of the annual operating budget and Plan of Achievement objectives for older girl programming.

* Recruits, supports, and recognizes community partners and program volunteers to provide events and resources for GSOFCT membership.

* Maintains records related to job function and contributes to reports.

* Keeps abreast of trends and issues affecting girls as well as keeps current with GSUSA initiatives.

* Supports and promotes all aspects of Girl Scouting by serving as a spokesperson for the Movement and a voice on girl issues.

* Embraces and enhances a culture that values diversity and reflects the council's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

* Works cooperatively and closely with Recruitment department on an ongoing basis to support council efforts.

* Other duties as assigned

* Other duties revised due to CEI phase implementation.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelors degree, preferably in education or recreation, or equivalent experience.

* Gold Award recipient preferred.

* Experience working with volunteers and girls.

* Ability to work well with internal and external customers.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to create and implement program budget.

* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Become a registered member and maintain membership in GSUSA.

* Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, routinely including nights, weekends, and occasional overnight settings.

* Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects up to 25 lbs.

* Sit or stand for long periods of time.

* Ability to maneuver around an event setting, including setup, facilitation, and cleanup.

* Active participation in Product Sales Initiatives.

* Represent GSOFCT in professional Girl Scout attire.

* Statewide travel required.

* Drive on a regular basis.

* Valid Connecticut driver's license.

* Must carry and show proof of liability coverage of personal vehicle.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Based in an office environment, with routine periods of time in the community at indoor and outdoor sites such as community buildings and our GSOFCT camp properties.
