JOB DESCRIPTION: General Summary:The Director of Pricing is responsible for the development and execution of project quoting, negotiations, implementing buying program initiatives, and determining list pricing. Develop best in class pricing management concepts and tactics, and enable pricing capabilities to facilitate the use of data to support pricing decision making. Partner with sales and marketing leaders and staff to identify areas of price opportunity, lead data and market-driven analytics to support pricing and program decisions, develop recommendations for price improvement, and provide support for the execution and monitoring of pricing results. Looking for a self starter with promotion potential in the coming years.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Executes and drives comprehensive pricing strategies through optimized tactics to improve profitability across product lines and customer channels. Act as owner of quote tools and metrics, margin analysis, tracking, and measuring price increases. Update and publish price lists Advise Product Management team on pricing models and execution for new product introductions. Define and enhance processes for proposing and approving quotes. Conduct regular reviews of price variances and results of quote activity. Lead organizational efforts to simplify, standardize, and adhere to price guidelines. Collaborate with pricing strategy team, sales, and marketing leaders to develop and present financial analysis of proposed customer quoting and buying programs. Monitor pricing effectiveness, including internal margin analysis, competitive pricing, and value differentiation. Coordinate with IT and price strategy team to enhance or develop system and reporting tools to improve business processes, performance measurements, and reporting related to quoting and buying programs. Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Marketing or similar business-related discipline. Advanced degree (MBA or quantitative discipline) preferred Minimum of 7 years pricing experience in roles of progressively increasing responsibility Intensive pricing analytics experience Experience in implementing and executing pricing strategies Proven track record in successfully identifying and implementing analytical solutions Understanding of price elasticity modeling and sensitivity analysis in a quoting environment Strong conceptual understanding of the price-share trade-off and its impact on profitability Demonstrated clear thinking and analytical skills, yet able to work in overall big picture setting as a strategic partner across the organization B2B experience strongly preferred Experience with Qlikview, IBM Cognos, and Microsoft Business Objects reporting software a plus Strong Excel and database (Access or SQL) knowledge required Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, project management skills, and people management skills Ability to collaborate with and influence staff across the organization (Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, IT) BENEFITS: SARGENT offers an excellent compensation package including comprehensive benefits including 401(k) plan and an environment that reflects our commitment to our employees.
