Position Overview:

This manager oversees the development and implementation of direct marketing acquisition campaigns from inception to results reconciliation for print products/publications and Fundraising. Provides expert list strategies, creative/offer testing strategies, and direct response campaign management, while responsibly managing your own P&L, including revenue and expenses and reporting and sharing results.

Qualifications Include:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7+ years' experience in Direct Marketing, including implementing and overseeing of direct marketing creative and list management strategies and processes. Experience in Fundraising highly beneficial, especially with direct mail and Monthly Giving programs. Must have expertise in direct mail, including outside list selection, broker management, merge/purge process, list rental and budgeting. Must have experience with large mail volumes across diverse product lines. Must have experience working with creative agencies to develop direct marketing promotions. Ability to analyze campaign results, test performance, and conduct P&L analyses is required. Must have experience managing to a P&L for both revenue and expenses. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, capable of working under tight deadlines, and be proficient in Microsoft office.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides strategic guidance in planning, implementing and analyzing a strategy consistent with CR's unique mission and marketing principles and applies it in all campaigns to optimize revenue and provide an optimal consumer experience as a first introduction to the brand.

Develops and oversees campaigns, including setting creative direction and executing on promotion creative and testing plans, list selection (inside and outside list names), merge process, analyzing results, and ensuring direct mail campaign mail dates are met.

Has financial responsibilities including budgets and re-forecasts of revenue and marketing expenses for assigned campaigns for print product/publication and Fundraising direct mail, the fundraising Telemarketing and Monthly Giving programs, and the FSI program.

Responsible for collaborating with third parties and internal partners on creative development of direct marketing promotions, executing on list selection for assigned house and outside list campaigns, and developing successful modeling programs.

Other responsibilities include overseeing CR bookstore, FSI program, and premiums, including concepts, tests, costs and development.

Oversees Monthly Giving fundraising telemarketing and direct mail campaigns.

Contributes to financial reporting as needed, including monthly accruals.

Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities to improve Consumer Reports' methods, structure, tools, and staff expertise.

Trains, recruits and manages staff with a focus on creating an innovative, collaborative, performance-driven culture.
