The Assistant Operations Manager will lead and mentor the overall performance of OWS clinical personnel and direct their compliance in meeting and maintaining job expectations. The Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for ongoing competency assessments and, if required, remediation of assigned OWS clinical personnel. The OWS Assistant Operations Manager assists in the collaboration, coordination and daily communication with WMC NCC's, Nurse Managers, and or Charge Nurses regarding the competencies and overall performance of OWS clinical personnel as assigned. During irregular operations (i.e., weather emergencies, Level I external or internal disasters, or extreme staffing shortages), the Assistant Operations Manager may have to assume an assignment as directed by the OWS RN/Executive Director.

Specific Duties:

* Provides ongoing competency assessments and performance appraisals on assigned OWS clinical personnel

* Identify, address and remedy staff performance issues and concerns. DOES NOT take patient assignment

* Communicates with PCA, PCT, PCC, POC staff regarding performance and improvement measures

* Accurately and efficiently transition information to oncoming clinical coordinator

* Handles conflict resolution

* Provides educational support and opportunities for learning

* Counsels OWS employees initially and follows through as needed with OWS Executive Management and Human Resources

* Collaborates with other OWS clinical shift coordinators, managers and WMC staff

* Provides remediation to OWS clinical personnel when required

* Serves as the OWS Liaison between staff and hospital clinical and non-clinical administration during working shifts

* Performs purposeful rounds during shifts to ensure placement of personnel, remediation of personnel, Care Notes, communication and demonstration of new practices

* Ability to effectively manage and lead a team

* Skilled at public speaking, delivering presentations and training groups of employees

* Proficient with computers, presentation software, and Microsoft Office Suite

* Must have strong sense of urgency

Required Experience

* RN, LPN, or PCT

* Minimum 2 years' experience in Acute Care setting or healthcare related environment with at least 2 years of leadership experience

* Experience working effectively under pressure with conflicting deadlines in hospital setting

* Successful completion of all WMC On-Boarding and all credentialing requirements
