This position is responsible and accountable for assisting in the overall management of Workers Compensation Program, Contractual Risk Transfer & Risk Hazard Exposure in keeping with the mission of preserving NYPA assets. Specific responsibilities include the lead on Workers Comp claim and adjudication affairs, insurance issues, with settlement decision making and recommendation authority to $25K and will manage existing, and initiate new Risk Cost & Recovery Savings Programs. This position will also provide guidance and direction to site personnel in the administration of Risk Management programs.

* Manage Workers' Compensation Program and assist for facility workers compensation coordinators on issues involving legal, administrative and operational issues to ensure legal compliance, timely support and productivity goals.

* Manage Risk Cost & Recovery Savings Programs i.e. Apportionment, Lag Time, Subrogation and Excess Recovery to save and recoup costs in excess of $250K per annum.

* Lead Training of personnel in workers compensation adjudication process, legal and Board policy changes through ongoing continuing education.

* Assist in the Insurance renewal process of specific coverages updating information for Brokers, meeting and facilitating site visits, negotiating proposals & presenting results to the Lead Sr. Risk Mgmt Analyst.

* Assist in the guidance and direction to procurement, consultants, project managers and Authority personnel on Authority Risk Management policies and practices.

* Performs other assignments/duties as required.

Required Experience

* A Bachelor Degree or 7 years of related Workers Comp experience.

* With a BA a Minimum of 3 years Worker Compensation claims experience.
