Bike Mechanic

Position Summary: Responsible for the inspection, diagnosis and repair of all Lefty/Headshok products sent in for repair to the Factory Tech Room (FTR) from our dealer base Location CSG - Wilton, CT


Provides technical assistance via phone to dealers related to the repair of our proprietary suspension systems.

Diagnoses & troubleshoots issues and, if necessary, arranges for return of product for in-house service.

Receives Headshok/Lefty forks from dealers and sales representatives and then enters details into SAP system to record service data on repairs that are performed.

Performs evaluations to diagnose fork issue(s).

Communicates cost and time estimates to dealers and sales reps.

Identifies potential upgrades, updates, and revisions to determine the best course of action for corrective repair or replacement of forks.

Makes all necessary repairs, including but not limited to: telescope/bearing replacement, cartridge rebuild/upgrade, custom tuning, oil replacement, seal replacement and/or any other component(s) damaged, based on inspection findings.

Manages service parts inventory in the service center. Reorders as necessary. Tracks expenditures.

Reports trends to the Technical Services Team lead and Suspension Product Manager.

Assists with engineering and research & development projects as needed.

Essential Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 - 3 years' experience in a bicycle shop and/or assembly environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Technical knowledge of standard bicycle mechanical systems (brakes, drivetrain, suspension, etc.)

Excellent diagnostic & mechanical repair skills.

Self-starter, motivated & dedicated, good time management, autonomous and able to work without supervision.

Good organization, meticulous attention to detail, and passion for doing excellent work.

Good written and verbal communication skills, including phone skills.

Computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Beneficial Qualifications

Prior experience servicing Cannondale Lefty/Headshok suspension systems.

Bicycle technician or suspension repair certifications (UBI, etc).

Experience with SAP ERP system.

Physical Demands

Shop environment: Must be able to stand for long periods of time and manipulate tools and bicycles up to 50lbs. Must wear PPE including safety glasses, rubber gloves when working with oils and/or greases.

Office environment: Must be able to work on computer and answer phone calls and emails.
