SUMMARY The Business Development Manager identifies and books new business opportunities that support the achievement of RIMS advertising revenue targets, primarily on the RIMS Marketplace platform. This involves identifying and building relationships with new accounts/key decision makers, responding to RFPs, supporting existing business/renewals and developing customized packages that meet the marketing objectives of clients and prospects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the process for identifying and converting new prospects and renewal/upgrade opportunities for the RIMS Marketplace platform to achieve annual revenue target (Note: selling and managing RIMS Marketplace is an essential part of this role) Partner with advertisers on RIMS Marketplace to support the development of robust profiles, delivery of traffic reports and other analytics; work with marketing to initiate traffic-driving campaigns Help identify and convert prospects for print advertising opportunities in Risk Management magazine (published 10x annually) and digital placements on Help identify and convert prospects interested in content sponsorships, including webinars, white papers and special advertising sections in RM magazine Develop ongoing improvements to the process of prospecting, qualifying, closing and renewing advertising business at RIMS Collaborate with Senior Account Manager to respond to RFPs for existing and prospective business Deliver superior customer service while maintaining and growing accounts Consistently meet or exceed sales revenue targets Demonstrate focused sales efforts, leadership, understanding of RIMS' business lines and a solid understanding of risk and insurance management Maintain your book of business online, track clients and prospects in pipeline and maintain updated sales report on shared network Attend industry conferences and events to build network, identify prospects and network with existing customers COMPETENCIES Prioritize; budget management; time management; customer service; relationship building; research; sales; writing. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree preferred Years of Experience: 3-5 years selling digital media placements and print advertising. Experience managing and selling online directories a plus. Experience with custom content development and sales a plus. Experience working with and responding to agency RFPs required. Strong understanding of CPM pricing models vs. flat pricing. Strong understanding of web analytics and experience creating web traffic reports preferred. COMPUTER PROFICIENCY Demonstrated intermediate experience in use of Microsoft Office: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint; proficiency with Google Analytics and CRM databases.
