We have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to work with our regulatory accounting team in Hartford, CT. Regulatory Reporting Business Analysts conduct and manage outcomes of various reports that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for regulatory and business planning. They support short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. They also develop and implement effective / strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and document business processes and projects
  • Consult with business departments to identify requirements and document
  • Define project scope and objectives
  • Model business processes (current and future)
  • Escalate issues to the Project Manager as appropriate
  • Provide agendas and follow up with meeting minutes
  • Participate in prototyping solutions to provide the business unit a preliminary evaluation of requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years business analyst experience
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL or other business intelligence tools
  • 1+ years of experience with MS Access
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Intermediate or greater level of proficiency with MS Excel
  • Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verbally
  • Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and / or inaccurate data
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Business Analyst
  • Systems Analyst experience
  • Healthcare claims experience
  • Data Warehouse experience
  • Advanced level of proficiency with MS Access
  • Working knowledge of compliance with state audit and data requests
  • Ability to provide explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
