Job Description:

Essential Job Functions: QuEST is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to join our high energy, fast-paced, growing Engineering Development Team in Connecticut. In this role, you will perform structural analyses for design validation on a wide variety of aerospace components. You will use the latest computational tools to create finite element models and evaluate structural integrity of gas turbine engine components. • Use Finite Element Analysis tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus , and/or LS-DYNA to conduct 3D and 2D static, dynamic, vibration, and thermal analyses • Work in a fast-paced, team environment to meet quick deadlines • Learn, understand, and apply our customer's standard procedures • Support quotation efforts with accurate estimates of structures time required to complete tasks • Develop procedures and analysis plans to validate structural capability based on customer standard work and requirements • Create Structural Analysis Memos which includes documenting all work, presenting findings to our customers, and making recommendations. • Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced structures engineers • Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and take ownership for implementation Secondary Job Functions: At QuEST, we often challenge our team members to temporarily work outside the scope of their primary job functions to broaden their skills and help the organization. Some of these roles, tasks, and opportunities include: • Execution within multiple services • Project Management: Execution and Support • Develop work instructions to ensure repeatability • Personnel Management • Onboarding and Professional Development: collaborate and mentor QuEST Team Members • Cross-functional teams • Geographic re-assignments • Account Management and Sales • Enabler roles, such as Human Resources, Technology Development, and IT • Quality Management and Continuous Improvement Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a technical BS degree and 2 - 5 years plus of aerospace experience with direct involvement in design and development services - preferably in the Gas Turbine Engine industry. The following criteria will be additionally used to identify and assess top candidates: • BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering • Strong communication, teaming, and organizational skills required • Able to work in a fast-paced, learning environment, meeting quick deadlines • Ability to make decisions and recommendations utilizing engineering judgement • Experience using ANSYS, Abaqus , and/or LS-DYNA preferred • Experience or academic background with mechanics of materials, vibrations, metal fatigue, finite element analysis, and fracture mechanics is needed. • Exposure to solid modeling tools, especially Unigraphics, would be useful. • Proficiency of the MS Office Suite with good writing skills o Candidates must be US Citizen or Permanent Residents Personal Work Attributes • Self-motivated, disciplined, passionate, and organized • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, meeting hard deadlines • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Great interpersonal and networking skills • Desire to guide and mentor team members Core Value Alignment: Customer Focus: Strive to exceed our customers' expectations each and every time Teamwork: Draw strength from teamwork / collaboration irrespective of geographical, organizational, and cultural boundaries.
