Job Description

Facilities Maintenance Technician II, Manufacturing

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing any and all duties required to maintain the building, grounds, equipment and facilities to acceptable quality standards. Work schedule is a hybrid 1st shift position that covers 4 - 9 hour shifts Wednesday to Saturday, and is on call Saturday.

Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement.

This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).

Work from blueprints, sketches or verbal descriptions and plans.

Maintain assigned equipment and work areas in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.

Perform in an acceptable manner involving Trades other than that in which trained.

Maintain documentation for GMP, OSHA, and EPA as required.

Safely and efficiently plan and perform duties of an electrical nature pertaining to all plant services, and physical plant installation.

Operates company vehicles and power equipment related to landscaping and grounds maintenance which includes truck/plow/power landscape equipment, tow motors/trucks.

Install and operate Life Safety and Security systems.

Operate and maintain plant compressed air, water systems.

Lays out, constructs or fabricates, maintains, and repairs plant and facility equipment.

Cleaning and repairs to interior and exterior of building to include facilities painting/wallpapering and related repairs.

Install/remove furniture, furniture systems and all panel systems.

Install, operate and maintain all plant electrical systems.

Position Description & Requirements

:

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

Less than University Degree (Associate degree) or technical equivalent preferred

5 - 10 years' experience in a facilities maintenance operation

Possess State of Connecticut E-2 electrical license or Industrial Electrician license.

Possess strong electrical, technical and analytical skills.

Training Plan Requirements as identified in Standard Operations Procedure 101.

Computer skills include Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the Allen Bradley PLC program.

Working knowledge of all trade related equipment, tools and test equipment to include hand tools, ladders man lifts (includes rigging of plant equipment and operation of tow motors and lifts), and any other tools or equipment common to Trades.

Electrical piping/wiring skills are required for installation of various electrical systems including electrical conduit as well as digital and relay logic circuits is required.

Knowledge of the NEC, Ohm's law and AC/DC circuitry to include troubleshooting is required.

Possess State of Connecticut driver's license.

Abilities:

Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.

Ability to use power equipment both inside and outside the facility.

Expected to perform other department activities as required.

Ability to recognize the operation, wiring and applications of various electrical control/devices to include the following: relays, starters, switches (proximity, photo electric, mechanical), plugs, connectors, solid state processors, variable speed drives, power distribution (low/high voltage), AC/DC circuitry motors (AC/DC), and controls, capacitors, over current protection, lighting systems, telecommunication wiring, computer cabling and alternate power sources.

Lifting up to 35 lbs. and pushing up to 35 lbs.

Recurring physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, stooping, climbing and outdoor work in inclement weather.

Ability to work flexible work schedule, weekend coverage, on-call assignments, and overtime required.
