The Opportunity: Partners A (Investor Relations) and B (Operations) currently work together at a major quantitative (CTA) asset manager. Partner C is a PM at a top quantitative New York fund. In early Q1 2017 the Partners, based in Miami, will leave to form a systematic hedge fund focused on a very well-capitalized client segment. The aim of this job posting is to meet and build a relationship with a future life-long equity associate, who is specialized in cutting edge Quantitative Trading Strategy Programming and Machine Learning . Must be a U.S. Citizen. About us: We see Trading, Sales, and Operations as the three equal pillars of a world-class hedge fund. Partner A has personally raised several hundred million dollars, over a few years, for quantitative funds, and has led a team that has raised nearly $1 billion during his tenure. Partner B currently leads an Operations team and holds economics degrees from the world's top universities. He is specialized across business management and firm operations. Partner C has managed billions at some of the world's best firms and holds a PhD from an Ivy League program. The Partners' complementary skillsets matter because we are focused on building out a complete product across Investor Relations, Marketing, HR, Legal, Business Management infrastructure, and the Trading Strategy itself, from day one. What we're looking for: An individual who is highly motivated, intelligent, disciplined, and entrepreneurial with substantial algorithmic strategy development, machine learning, and trading experience from a top flight fund. This person will initially focus on a) programming the intelligent algorithms created by research, and b) automating execution for stocks, futures and interbank currencies for these algorithms. In the mid-term this individual will oversee our machine learning processes and other data scientists and engineers. You will be a Strategist, a Scientist, and a high impact player on our team. Specific skills and experienced required: Willingness to relocate to Miami. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Robust Capital Markets knowledge Machine learning and AI expertise A PhD and a minimum of 3+ year of experience in quantitative research. Developing and maintaining computer systems to facilitate investment, portfolio management, and research Performing programming and software development with an emphasis on derivatives, econometrics, financial time series analysis, and accounting Collecting, managing, and reporting financial data using SQL Server, Access, Excel, VBA, and C#/C++ Drawing upon industry knowledge and computational finance experience to develop computer systems that assist with portfolio management utilizing CFA standards, portfolio theory, and alternative investment strategies applied to: futures contracts, forward contracts, OTC markets, cash equities, physical commodities Experience in coordinating trade reconciliation. Conduct trade analysis and produce daily risk reports Willingness and interest in being a resource for collateral and sales material. Chief Data Scientist / Head of Research and Programming for an elite quantitative start-up hedge fund in Miami. 3-7 years' experience.
