of Yale Law School.


Yale Law School is a preeminent institution for legal education
and
advanced scholarship in law and related fields. The Dean
is the
chief academic and administrative officer, responsible
for leading
200 permanent, visiting, and part-time members of
the faculty;
60 other academic staff; 175 staff members; and
650 students.


The Dean of Yale Law School must express the vision of legal
education
and scholarship at Yale, develop innovative programs
to advance the
school's mission, and maintain the school's
unparalleled excellence
in education, scholarship, and public
service. The Dean has ultimate
responsibility for representing
the school publicly; recruiting and retaining
faculty, staff,
and students of the highest caliber; managing the
financial
resources of the school; leading development and
fundraising efforts;
managing the school's relationship to
Yale University; and protecting
Yale Law School's culture of
intellectual excellence and collegiality.

administrative abilities and impeccable

qualifications.
