The STAR Home is a community-based, structured, home-like setting with staffing, clinical services, and therapeutic support and guidance offered 24/7. It provides an intensive clinical treatment program that creates a physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe environment for adolescents with complex behavioral health care needs.The Level II Therapeutic Group Home (TGH) is a community-based, structured, home-like setting with staffing, clinical services, and therapeutic support and guidance offered 24/7. It provides an intensive clinical treatment program that creates a physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe environment for adolescents with complex behavioral health care needs. Please note that a minimum of a 4-year degree is REQUIRED to work at TGH.

There are multiple Full Time and Part Time positions available at programs located in Hartford, West Hartford, Southington, Wolcott, and Harwinton. Specifics are available to view in the application process.Youth Workers are responsible for behavioral management of adolescents and young adults in our care, maintaining daily routine, ensuring a healthy environment for the residents. Duties include engaging them in positive peer relations, rec. and leisure time activities, providing crisis counseling, supervision of chores and other tasks. Other duties: transportation of residents as needed, administration of medications, daily/shift documentation. Skills required include ability to set professional boundaries and limits, cultural sensitivity, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to establish a positive rapport with the adolescents in our care.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field strongly preferred, and experience working with at-risk adolescents. Must have ability to set professional boundaries and limits as well as develop positive rapport with residents. Must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; exercise effective group skills and techniques, and ability to communicate well with co-workers and internalize supervision. Must also have a valid Connecticut driver's license, and possess the following certifications, or be eligible to obtain these after hire: Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Adult First Aid/CPR. Full time staff must also be DCF Medication Administration certified or become certified after hire. Part time or per diem staff must be able to obtain certification upon request based on program needs. PSL endorsement is required for certain programs and must be able to be obtained upon request.
