Job Description:

Component Assembly Technician Summary: The position supports Component Assembly through bench type processes, with excellent hands-on skills and high level of attention to detail of high quality electronic components, to their controlled inventory locations. Primary Responsibilities: Seam seal, leak test, marking, package de-lidding, sandblasting, sterialization, glass seal repair, spot weld, die shear, dicing, pind test, measurements and analysis, wafer and die inspections, wafer and die cleaning, inventory management, plasma clean and the ability to cross train to additional process steps. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Perform shift work 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. The shift entails working in a clean room environment, in a standing and or sitting position for the majority of the 8 hours. Production demand may require working scheduled overtime. Excellent attendance and punctuality are mandatory. 2. Wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 8 hour shift. The environment does not allow the use of makeup, hairspray, hair gel, perfume or cologne. 3. Comply with safety rules and regulations to include determining proper handling and labeling procedures of products. Promptly reporting accidents and spills and making recommendations to improve safe work practices. 4. Participates in quality control activities throughout the laboratory to include reviewing final reports and collecting all data necessary for routine quality control functions and tests. 5. Performs a variety of functions which may require training and certification on key equipment or process including all support tools. 6. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities. 7. Follow detailed verbal and or written instructions and procedures to determine specifications and sequences of operations to complete tasks and all required documentation. Inspect materials, components, or products for surface defects using precision measuring instruments, microscopes, and standard procedures. Notify supervisor or manager of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions as soon as possible. 8. Calibrate and operate equipment, computer and system interface programs in performing daily tasks. Collect data and prepare reports detailing results, ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information. 9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date processing and inspection records on batches in process on travelers and data base. 10. Assembles assigned product parts on assembly line accordance with production guidelines and safety regulations. Package product in ESD safe container, signs off documentation and transport finished product for future processing. 11. Work with engineers to clarify and improve process specifications. Assists process engineers performing experiments. Communicate results to engineering or manufacturing department. 12. Maintain work area in a neat, orderly condition to ensure smooth operations. Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security operations. Job Requirements Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and or ability required. Education/Experience: High School and technical associates degree and 2 years semiconductor process and manufacturing support experience in a clean room or laboratory environment and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Hand-eye coordination; manual dexterity. Prior experience in any of the following: Microscope use, manual seam sealing, spot welding, gap welding, plasma etch, and knowledge of ESD and clean room procedures, knowledge and safe use of chemicals, gases and working in an exhaust hood. Ability to calculate figures and amounts as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
