Job Details:

ProEnergy Services client needs an Operations Technician that will be responsible for the operation & maintenance of a 30 MW combined cycle power plant and or supporting fuel processing facility. Specific experience monitoring plant operations, performing maintenance and repairs on gas turbines or similar equipment, controls, generators, gas compressors, gas processing equipment, and other auxiliary equipment is desired. The Technician's primary responsibilities are daily operations of all power, gas, and support systems. . Additional responsibilities include keeping a spare parts inventory, maintenance, planning/scheduling, record keeping and reporting.

The Technician will work as a member of a dynamic team of employees who are operating and maintaining power plant facilities. The Company relies on the flexibility and innovative skills of its employees to ensure success.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Responsible for starting up and shutting down plant systems

Assists with facility maintenance, repairs and inspections

Monitors and adjusts plant system controls to maximize performance and prevent equipment failure

Performs minor maintenance and inspections of equipment as necessary

Performs administrative duties as necessary including daily, weekly, monthly logs and reports

Orders materials and supplies as required

Correspond and coordinate plant activities with clients (landfill personnel and utility company)

Responds to plant alarms with designated supervision to learn appropriate corrective action and execute plant shut-down and start-up procedures

Strong commitment to safety and active participation in safety training.

Performs random security inspections around the plant

Maintains plant compliance with state and federal permitting requirements

Completes other responsibilities as directed by management.

Responsible for detailed reports on all operations and existing conditions

Report abnormal conditions that develop during the daily work schedule with recommendations for new approaches

Responsible for the preparation prior to and actions during an emergency


Must be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the United States

5 years of operation and maintenance experience on power systems

Combined Cycle power plant experience

Must possess experience working with Gas Turbines

Must possess ability to examine and interpret operations and safety manuals

Analyze and apply essential troubleshooting, operational, and repair techniques on plant equipment

Various computer skills (Word, Excel, PLC and email systems)

Must have the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision

Responds to all plant call outs, in case of any emergencies and failures

Assist the maintenance technicians when needed


Rhode Island

5 years of operation and maintenance experience on power systems

Analyze and apply essential troubleshooting, operational, and repair techniques on plant equipment

Comb ined Cycle Power Plant

Must possess experience working with Gas Turbines
