The World Economic Forum helps leaders from industry, government and civil society to engage with peers to address critical issues. Forum teams are responsible both for community and content aspects of the value proposition.

The MEI Industry team leads projects and initiatives relevant to key media players, manages the relationship with their management, from global multinationals to smaller, innovative newcomers in the digital landscape. The team's main objective is to build the world's foremost community of leading MEI companies and to engage them in the Forum activities to improve the state of the world and advance the industry's critical issues in collaboration with government and civil society.

As a Community Lead, you will report to the Head of MEI industry and will be primarily responsible for managing the key strategic relationships between the Forum and the MEI industry Community partners and ensuring that the Forum's projects and activities are aligned with the strategic concerns of the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the management and development of the Forum's community of Partner of the Top 50 companies in the MEI sector and, in conjunction with the business development team, for the creation and implementation of a strategy, designed to increase the Forum's MEI Industry community's partnership base, as well as to strengthen the engagement of current partners.
Relationship management: Manage the relationships for the Forum's existing and potential Members and Partners to help drive action. In particular, ensure that senior executives participate in strategic engagement with the Forum's projects and events. Act as the primary interface between the Forum and key industry contacts, including CEOs, corporate senior executives, policy makers, academics and experts. Provide support in the management of the CEOs Advisory Committee that sets the objectives and the work programme for the MEI Community at the Forum.Business Development and Outreach: Through building high-level networks in the sector, sophisticated communications and disciplined outreach, you will contribute to the development and growth of the MEI Community by:Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic business development plan, aimed at increasing the Forum's value proposition for potential and existing MEI partners and their ongoing engagement. (This will also include a outreach materials and communications outputs)Leading the creation of an expanded MEI community trusted value network, which will include a network of most influential MEI stakeholders, such as policy makers, regulators, international organisations, in addition to the core industry partners.Cross sector engagement: Create cross-sector value for MEI partners by identifying issues and initiatives of relevance that are addressed by other Forum's industries or communities (i.e. ICT, Telco, Consumer, Investors etc). Work closely with the Business Engagement Team and Regional Teams to create the best value proposition for potential partners and existing ones, both at global and regional level.
Qualifications and Skills
Master's degree with 7 to 10 years of professional experience and ideally some business development experience in MEI, digital, or related industries in an international environment; this would ideally involve working regularly with C-level executives and management teamsDemonstrated leadership capabilities, high-level analytical and organizational skills, excellent team/communication skills and a broad intellectual background with a master's degree in business, sciences or engineeringThorough understanding of the strategic, economic and policy challenges currently facing the MEI industryStrategic thinker, with a drive and passion for collaboration and tactical execution and a self-starter who enjoys working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environmentFluency in written and spoken English is required, and fluency in an additional language preferred
