Job Description:

VIP Sales Account Manager General Position Summary: The Music People, Inc. has been in business for over 35 years as a highly respected business-to-business distributor of musical accessories and sound contractors. Our VIP Sales Account Manager will be a main point of contact for The Music People's strongest customer base in addition to having full responsibility of tradeshow coordination. This position has a high level of visibility with customers, and offers a unique opportunity to combine and develop both sales and project management skills. You will work independently and often as a team, collaborating with the VIP Accounts team and management. Hours: Monday- Friday 9am - 5:30pm, hours may vary depending on priorities Responsibilities VIP Account Management You will work on a team with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Purchasing Manager and VIP Account Support in order to grow business as a key objective.Build a strong rapport with customersPitch new products, improve SKU counts and category coverageSolicit product needs from customers and serve as a liaison between VIP Accounts and the product development teamIdentify and pitch sales opportunities. Use testimonials or other customer success stories to further encourage the purchase of new products to customers.Taking daily phone calls and emails from customers to update them on order status, availability of items and tracking of shipped merchandise while providing excellent customer service at all timesProvide customers with consistent and professional follow upPrepare, participate in and occasionally lead customer meetings at trade shows, customer visits, conference calls, and visits to TMPTake notes and follow up with management, customers and other relevant parties with results of meetings and next step suggestions. Follow up and complete any projects created from the meetingProcessing and releasing orders not handled by our Data Entry department due to any number of complexities not included on existing outlinesDevelop plan to decrease overstock and excess inventoryCreate and maintain OneNote page for each customer for customer information storage.Collaborate with Data Entry team to create reports, determine the best freight rates, send updated price lists, maintain routing guides and send customers product builds.Use known customer preferences and your best judgment to identify sales opportunities.Follow-up with customer and communicate with management as needed to close sales opportunities.Coordinate project management for tradeshow twice a year including creating reports and scheduling appointments for VIP Accounts.Qualify new customer requests.
