Job Description:

Successful candidate will design and develop product solutions to meet all customer requirements. Qualifications: Required Skills:BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering1-5+ years design engineering experience is required.3+ yrs of 3D CAD - Solid Works experience Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Electronic knowledge and computer programming a plusUnderstanding of Engineering principals, materials and manufacturing processes.Solid computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software such as Solid Works or Pro EFosters open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change. Utilizes a variety of mediums to communicate design ideas.Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and able to effectively manage multiple priorities.Must possess good project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.Searches, reads and understands competitive patents, work with Patent Attorney.Performs design and development work on new and existing products for use in electro-mechanical products. Includes review, recommendation and approval of design work done by satellite facilities / vendors and offshore design team.Work with the Marketing Product Line Manager to develop the product specification. Gain consensus on design with marketing and manufacturing. Determine the appropriate codes and standards, testing requirements, end user preferences and trends, and competitive product analysis.Refine and complete the design through modeling, prototyping, testing, analysis, piloting, and inspection of processes and first articles. Work closely with Advanced Manufacturing, Tool Shops and Manufacturing to procure prototype and production product componentsOversee the completion of product documentation to support production, including engineering drawings and specifications, bills of materials, and quality requirements and testing.Investigation and analysis of new materials, components, technology, and engineering practices.
