Non Trading Market Risk Manager
What is the opportunity?
As the Non-Trading Market Risk Manager you will extend and anchor the oversight of the market risk across the non-trading activity of RBC combined US operations (CUSO) as part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) mandate and will develop and promote a Best of Class risk oversight environment. Additionally, you will provide insight and understanding into the complexity of managing risk across large portfolios of assets and liabilities, along with the associated risk factors.
What will you do?
Market Risk Oversight
Complete the market risk reporting coverage for non-trading risk positions (including structural interest rate and structural FX risk) across RBC CUSO.
Capture material non-trading risks in GRM Market Risk's reporting and monitoring processes, developing additional sensitivity metrics where required.
Implement infrastructure changes and process enhancements within RBC's control standards.
Monitor activities and exposures to ensure adherence to approved policies and limits.
Regularly review existing policies and limits, proposing updates and revisions where necessary.
Ensure risk reporting is timely and accurate and changes in risk are properly investigated and understood.
Partner with other risk management groups and IT to develop the infrastructure needed to define and measure market risk.
Risk Analytics/Transaction Facilitation
Create consolidated reporting that includes additional sensitivity measures and stress testing, with consistent aggregation and integration across business lines, legal entities, etc.
Implement risk analysis tools to allow for deeper understanding of risk drivers and changes.
Provide insight on key risks and exposures versus market trends and potential events.
Create consolidated market risk reporting that captures the impacts to financial statements.
Ensure that all material risk models are independently vetted and certified.
Understand the impacts of changes to models and model input parameters or assumptions on reported risk exposures.
Conduct analysis and reviews of assumptions and methods used for risk measurement
Conduct testing and sensitivity analysis in QRM
What do you need to succeed?
- Knowledge and experience in interest rate risk management at a large financial institution, including:
- Asset & Liability Management
- Stress testing and scenario analysis
- Sensitivity analysis and Value-at-Risk
- In depth knowledge of ALM techniques, including:
- Modeling of indefinite maturity deposits
- Knowledge of and experience with US bank regulations for liquidity, capital and interest rate risk management.
