Newtown Savings Bank is looking for a high energy, team player for a part-time Customer Service Associate position in our Customer Service Center (Call Center).  This position will provide customer service through a customer service center environment while strictly following all Regulatory Guidelines and Security Procedures.  Responsibilities include providing customer service, proactively cross selling all Bank Products and Services; using proper and courteous telephone etiquette, communicating with customers via email and chat functions.  The typical part-time hours for this position are Monday-Friday from 10:30am-2:30pm and two Saturdays per month from 8:00am-1:00pm.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Within a Customer Service Center environment process incoming calls meeting Bank defined service standards. Provide customers with product and service information as well as account resolution.Document each telephone call with the appropriate ACD Agent Call reason codes.

  • Complete customer research in a timely manner.Ensure prompt follow up and resolution. Work with other departments when necessary.

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding all Bank services and product suites.Product suites to include both deposit and loan products.

  • Actively solicit new business from both customers and potential customers.Sell the complete line of deposit products and services as well as refer Insurance and Brokerage products to reach defined departmental goals.

  • Courteously resolve customer complaints with a first time resolution, refer as needed to department supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-2 years Banking / Call Center experience

  • Ability to listen well and follow instruction

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Knowledge of basic computer applications

  • Verbal and Written Communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Proper telephone etiquette
